In the basement

by Naomi Ben Or from Jerusalem, Israel

While I was working on a series of paintings that I made through the months of April to July I had to move out of my comfortable, lighten and equipped studio on campus to working at the basement of my building. In this basement that was filled with cockroaches, sport's benches and a broken toilet, I continued my attempt to somehow create filthy, respectful, calm, dark, broken and elevating paintings
