The Bookmark Between Before and After

With the schools closed, my first grade son is experiencing big changes.
Our apartment in Brooklyn, New York, has become a makeshift classroom and foster home to the science classroom frog. The parks are off limits and he only talks to his friends through screens. He's working out ways to bond with his little brother.

I’m recording this period in our family’s history – one that will always be the bookmark between before and after – for him, and us, to remember the days we spent together in this brew of love and fear.
